ศตวรรษชื่อของต้นไม้มาจากภาษาลาติน fibrifugia แปลว่า fever reducer ใช้เป็นยาแก้ไข้แก้ปวดศีรษะ
โดยตัว Feverfew จะไปยับยั้งการขยายตัวของหลอดเลือดเล็กๆ ในสมอง
